Michael Carnes

Mr. Carnes moved to Crested Butte Colorado in 1993 when he was 21 yrs. old. It was there where he fell in love with the so called, "Simple Life" of Small Mountain Town Living. After two years of living there, he went back to school at Western State College and got his Bachelor's in Business and Accounting with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship. He and a friend then opened a Ski Shop at the resort base area called Real Balance, which is still running today.

Mr. Carnes then moved to Fort Collins to open Real Balances second location in 1999. It was there where he met his wife Christi and with the great support from her he began searching for new challenges in life. There was just one thing missing, he wanted to live back in a smaller Mountain Town Community which drove he and Christi to Estes Park. He got his Real Estate license and began working at Prudential Team Realty to gain enough hours and closings to open his own company.

In the state of Colorado Realtors can work in one of two ways: The first is a Transaction Broker which in a nutshell means the Realtors duties and obligations lie to the transaction at hand: The second is as a buyers or sellers agent which means the Realtors duties and obligations lie to the client they are representing by performing in the manner that they request of you. Mr. Carnes was having to work as a TB and felt he could better serve his client as an Agent. He felt this was a matter not to be taken lightly and went back for more schooling and obtained the candidacy for becoming an ABR, allowing  him to represent all of his clients in a fiduciary manner if they choose so.  It was this time that he decided to open his own company with the objective to work solely on the behalf of his client as an agent and not for the transaction at had as a Transaction Broker. This allows him to always look out for their best of interest, through careful examination of each detail in the transaction they have entered into. It is through this practice that he is able to uphold a superior level of ethics and integrity, doing what is best for his client, providing a great experience and a new friendship that goes beyond the transaction at hand.
