Estes Park Entertainment
As gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park, Estes Park
receives a lot of tourists. Consequently, the town has quite a few
restaurants and entertainment options for visitors as well as
residents. The historic Stanley Hotel, a majestic old hotel that offers
incredible views of the Rockies, was the basis for The Overlook Hotel in Stephen King’s novel The Shining.
The hotel was originally designed as a summer resort in 1907 and still
serves that purpose, although many guests just come to tour the place.

Estes Park Dining
Ed’s
Cantina, which calls itself “The Hottest Place in Town”, is a popular
spot to eat. They serve full, hearty meals for breakfast, lunch and
dinner, and give out free souvenirs with some meals. If visitors are
looking for a local coffee shop, Kind Coffee is the place to be. This
quaint little place offers European style seating, Internet access,
fresh-brewed coffee, a poster board with local events listed and some
excellent light food. The prices are slightly higher than Starbucks,
but Starbucks can be found anywhere and doesn’t match the cozy
atmosphere of Kind Coffee.
Mary’s Lake Lodge
Mary’s Lake Lodge and Resort is located on the north side of town at the base of Rams Horn Mountain.
This lakeside resort features amazing views of the Continental Divide
and lavishly appointed suites. Mary’s also has fine dining, live music,
outstanding pub food and a first class spa. Those that are looking for
pampering will enjoy staying here.
Estes Park Art and Gallery
Another interesting place for entertainment in Estes Park
is the Art Center of Estes Park. This non-profit organization is
committed to promoting the hard work of local and regional artists.
Overall, the Art Center mirrors the artistic visions of working artists in Colorado.
A fine gallery is on display, and art classes, workshops and education
classes are offered to the public. The art market for the center is
always looking for new artists who want to display their work.
Estes Park Shopping
Downtown Estes Park
is a great place to go if one likes to shop. Every year, hundreds of
thousands of people walk up and down the small streets and byways that
are lined with small gift shops and boutiques. Many fascinating and
unique little stores can be found here. The river also cuts through the
heart of the shopping area, making it an ideal laid-back environment.
Though Estes Park
offers most regular forms of entertainment and dining that small towns
are known for, it does not have a shopping mall. However, for those
people who have to visit a mall every now and then, the Centura Mall in
Loveland, CO, is not too far away. Loveland is only about 25 minutes away from Estes Park.
The Centura Mall was built just two years ago and offers a fantastic
range of shops and stores. It is an outdoor mall, meaning that the
stores are not all together, under one roof like classic malls. This
works well with the dry Colorado climate.
Visitors
who want to find out more about the local restaurants and entertainment
options can stop by the Estes Park Visitor’s Bureau. It is located at 500 Big Thomspon Ave in Estes Park. If you’ve visited EstesPark and think you want to make it your home, check out real estate in Estes Park to find the perfect home for your family.
