There are a plethora of
outdoor activities to do around Glen Haven. Buckskin Bo’s Livery Stable
provides horse back rides through some great trails that have much less
traffic than others in the area, especially those right outside of Estes Park.
The Glen Haven Stables also offer guided horseback trail rides. If you
prefer to explore trails on your own two feet, Glen Haven also has many
hiking trails that snake through the surrounding canyons and mountains.
Of course, the endless hiking, fishing and climbing opportunities of Rocky Mountain National Park are just a few minutes away as well. It is also possible to rent 4-wheelers and take excursions around the area that way.
If guests are seeking a greater variety of entertainment and recreational options, then Estes Park is just a short drive away. This city, known as the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park,
is geared towards the tourism industry and therefore offers a wide
selection of entertainment and activities for its small size. The Estes
Park Ride-A-Kart is one of northern Colorado’s
leading family fun centers. This fun amusement park features bumper
boats, grand prix go karts, crazy bumper cars, an arcade, and two
18-hole miniature golf courses. If you are in the mood for something a
little more adventurous, Rapid Transit Rafting offers half and full day
rafting trips down the Big Thompson River.
In addition, those who are seeking something more peaceful and intellectually stimulating may be interested in the Estes Park Area Historical Museum,
which features local historical exhibits, programs and educational
events. The Stanley Hotel, which helped inspire Stephen King’s book
“The Shining”, offer further bits of Estes Park
history and charm. People who are looking for something outside the
ordinary for entertainment may want to partake in the annual Duck Race,
which happens every May. Ducks may be adopted for the race for $20;
they are then released to race down the Fall River. Proceeds go to several charitable foundations. Estes Park is also home to a large assortment of unique and fun festivals every year.
